Stephen Sparling

Stephen has been involved in politics and public service in all three levels of government for most of his life. He was a Regional Councillor in Oakville, Ontario, for almost ten years and served as Chairman of the Halton Planning and Public Works for five. He was President of the Oakville Chamber of Commerce and he has been and remains an active Board Member, Fund Raiser and Campaign Chair for many political and charitable organizations. Most notable of these include: the Conservative Fund of Canada, The Toronto Board of Trade, The Toronto Blue Jays Foundation; The Albany Club of Toronto; Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital; Halton Health Care Foundation; Private Capital Markets Association of Canada.

Since leaving elected politics Stephen has been President of Halton Government Relations focused on advising Land Investors and Developers in Halton. Most notable of the his involvement on the Municipal side, Stephen was a founding Board member of the Oakville Economic Development Corporation, Chaired the Mississauga Board of Trade Government Affairs and was a member of the Toronto Board of Trade Municipal Affairs. This Board worked extensively with Mayor Ford in reducing the City of Toronto annual budget by over 340 million dollars.

Often called upon for his expert opinion on both business and political affairs, Stephen has been interviewed by the Business News Network (BNN), CBC Radio, CBC Power & Politics, CTV Question Period, Profit Magazine, Globe & Mail, Toronto Star.

Michael Sparling

As a land acquisition and municipal consultant with Halton GR, Michael Sparling is on the frontline of our efforts to ensure that the nuts and bolts of your project are put together in a way that brooks no error. He has taken the lead in developing many of the internal systems Halton GR uses in handling client projects effectively and efficiently, and his expanding playbook means he is always finding ways to enhance Halton GR’s services to clients.

Michael has a keen interest in development issues and is highly motivated to support commercial interests that are in pushing forward the frontier of building the communities that make our nation strong. He has a robust background in sales, leadership and customer service, and as a licensed realtor, he allows Halton GR to offer another tier of capability to the services we provide for our clients.
